22-oz bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours opaque with a small, fizzy, dark brown head, somewhat diminishing with a very thin film left behind, fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toast), average hops (perfume), average yeast (leather) with notes of prunes, dates, figs, raisins, bourbon, and chocolate. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a bitter-chalky finish with a slight alcohol burn. Long duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. This one should age quiet well.

22oz bottles acquired in a few trades. Poured a dark and deep brown color with an averaged sized off white head that left some lacing on the glass. Aromas of vanilla, chocolate, earthy, woody, bourbon, and some dark fruits. Tastes of wood, roast, vanilla, bourbon, and some chocolate. Alcohol content well hidden. The Bourbon and barrel aging were more present in the aromas vs. the tastes.

2008 bomber. Beer is very dark, opaque brown. Head is moderately sized, light brown, frothy. Mostly diminishing but ultimately lasting. Rich specks of lacing hold to the glass.
The aroma is malty with moderately weighty notes of roasted grain, chocolate, coffee, light notes of shortbread; Hoppy with a moderate, sharp note of herbal resin/pine;Yeasty with a light note of bread dough, light note of basement; Miscellaneous notes of moderate floral vanilla, hottish bourbon, light note of garden soil.
The flavor is rich. Moderately bitter, moderately/heavily sweet, lightly/moderately acidic/juicy with a long, lightly acidic, lightly/moderately bitter, lightly/moderately sweet finish. Light, lingering warmth in the aftertaste.
The body is medium/full, the texture is fluffy/velvety and the carbonation is lively. Complex, rich, friendly and engaging. Bready/cookie qualities hook lovingly into the deep malty structure, sparkle in the light of the bourbon goodness.

On tap at The Front Door Boise. Pours out a almost black topped with a small tan head. A big bourbon aroma and tast. I also picked up some Almond Joy on this. You know Coconuts, vanilla, and chocolate. It still is pretty hot. I have a few bottles to age. I know the BA Black Gold aged very well I hope this turns out to be the same.
