pours a thick black with a nice tan head. first impression is that this beer was going to be too much for me to handle. it smells exactly like strong whiskey and cola with hints of chocolate and espresso. first sip is harsh and alcohol is almost overpowering. but as the beer warms up lots of flavors come out of vanilla, whiskey, and malt. to be quite honest, this isn’t the beer for me, though I believe it to be well crafted.

Bottle, thanks to Guerde for sharing. Pours a deep, dark brown with brown head. Aroma is mainly bourbon and cocoa with a hint of oak. Flavor is not as strong as the aroma and consists of bourbon, rich chocolate, roasted malts and tobacco. Mouthfeel is light for the style.

[Bottle, thanks Guerde!] Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is very nice. German chocolate cake (Eben nailed that one), along with coconut and brown sugar. The taste is harsh, acrid roasted malt, bourbon, and a little bitterness. Pretty thin with an alright finish. Overall the aroma on this was good, but the taste was a huge letdown.

Dark bronw pour with fomay off white head and lace. Caramel malt and light spice on the nose. Medicine, coffee and abv. Just a hint thin but pretty solid palate. Nice imperial porter.
