sunevdj (1386), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 31, 2008 @ home with the club. Pours a hazy amber with almost no head. Smells good and hoppy. Very dry. Hoppy aromas. Thin body with highish carbonation. OK. greenhorn1 (370), Eugene, Oregon, USA Aug 9, 2008 22 oz bottle, brewmaster reserve 2007. Pours amber with frothy head. Aroma is malty with slight hint of citrus. Grapefruit flavor with a piney backbone and light spices. A bit on the light side for moutfeel. Overall, not too impressed, a bit one dimensional. DenverLogan (420), Oceanside, California, USA Jul 8, 2008 Copper amber color; small head. Earthy malt and grain aroma. Grapefruit hops, pine resin, chalk, caramel, black pepper, juniper, alcohol...long dry and bitter finish. mdm46410 (560), Griffith, Indiana, USA Jun 12, 2008 Poured from a 22oz bomber (2007 version) and served in a shaker. This IPA poured a highly hazed amber with a one-finger thick head of creamy beige foam. Some nice lacing was left around the sides of the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of fresh oranges, lemon zest, pine, and a ton of sugary caramel. The flavor consisted of grapefruit, peach, and mild caramel. A nice amount of bitterness, but the beautiful caramel malt found in the aroma didn’t really show up in the flavor. The mouthfeel was light to medium-bodied with mild carbonation. Thin and watery. Looked and smelled good, but it was all downhill from there. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA May 29, 2008 Not really sure what to think of this one, the flavor is aggressive but the mouthfeel is all over the place. All of the flavors kind of cascade onto the palate in a crash that kind of overwhelms you. Lots of spice and citrusy pine notes, with a simple but standard caramel malt background. This could be better with a little tweaking.
