NosirIwont (1162), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Oct 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy, deep amber/light brown with an off-white head. Aroma is hops at first, but soon develops malty notes which take over. Faint notes of plastic and coffee (!) at first as well, but disappears as it warms. Flavour is malty with a hoppy bitterness in the background. Notes of bread. Metallic and fruity notes as it warms. Malty and bitter finish with notes of roasted sunflower seeds which fade as it warms however, giving way for notes of apple. Crackers as well, I believe. Not bad, but nothing special. Could use more on the hop side. 23-10-08. Allen (1285), Switzerland Oct 19, 2008 Apricots, hops, honey and crackers in the nose. Salty. Peppery. Full bodied. Nicely balanced. Some walnuts showing up. The alcohol is rather pleasant. Wonderful finish with a hint of smoke, aniseed and heather. A great beer. mcsquint (93), , Missouri, USA Oct 15, 2008 Poured from bottle, this ale has a deep amber color with large offwhite head that lasts quite a while. Excellent lacing all the way down the glass. Aroma of malt with dried apricots and figs. Tastes of malt and dried fruit with a somewhat floral hops taste. Nice dry finish. Full, rich mouthfeel. Bottle conditioning makes the carbonation nearly perfect. The 6.3% ABV doesn’t hurt either! Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Oct 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber body with a 2 finger creamy off white head. Lots of fruit and spices. Caramel malt, lightly bitter. Light etoh orange and cherry. Everything coming together in a great balance. Great! Ober (1161), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands Oct 7, 2008 Updated: Dec 19, 2008A beautiful clear, dark red colored beer. With a thick beige foamed head. The aroma of roasted malts, caramel, a little coffee, a little chocolate and fruity. The taste of malts, bitter, sweet coffee and light chocolate, dark fruits like raisin. The aftertaste stay for awhile, gentle bitter and dry. kopher (295), New York, USA Oct 6, 2008 Updated: May 19, 2009Nice red-orange pour, thick foamy tan head.
Tons of prunes and apricots.
Mild aroma, sweet, malty, biscuity, some roastedness/chocolate. Very sweet flavor, but not cloying and well balanced by some sublte bitterness. Alcohol is apparent. Mine was too cold, but it’s fairly dry.
Very high and doesn’t come back down, if you know what I mean.
Lasting bittersweet finish. 944play (64), Santa Rosa, California, USA Oct 6, 2008 16.9oz in bordeaux glass. Amber, low off-white head. Big dried tropical fruit, cookie, molasses, and fig nose. Sweet up front, mellow piney bitter going down. No evidence of bottle conditioning except the printing on the label. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle: Pour is slightly hazy brown with a creamy light tan head. Aroma is malty with a slight touch of floral hops. Flavor is damn smooth with medium malt, slight up front bitterness moving to some nice nutmeg and clove characters. This is a damn fine brew from fullers. Smooth and delicious. Would buy again.
