Poured into a nonic. Nice mahogany color with just a little haziness. Beige two finger head settles to a partial ring and leaves some thin lacing. Toasty cookie-ish malt aroma with some dark fruits and spice. Kind of faint overall. For a beer billed as a strong ale, there’s really not that much strength in the flavor either. Fresh baked bread and a bit of toffee with a very herbal, tannic hop bitterness, reminiscent of English black tea. Carbonation is a little high, body is medium. Finish is dry and encourages the next sip. Drinkable but kinda bland.

This amber beer is really a pleasure to drink. It’s got a delightfully rich palate and a complex flavour which has an abiding fruity sweetness but also butter, hops and spice. Very good indeed, this beer deserves its awards.

Pours a dark golden amber with a thick tan foamy head. Aroma of yeast and raisin.Taste is spicy, a little hoopy, nutty. I’m not a big hops guy. Very full of flavor.

0.5 l bottle. Dark amber color with good head. Malty, caramelly, nutty, toasty, woody and yeasty aroma with hint of almonds. Rich malty flavor with plenty of dark caramel and fruity esters. Woody, caramelly, nutty and bitter finish. Very pleasant, excellent winter warmer!

Very good. Well balanced malt and hop. Neither are stand outs, but both are certainly there. One of my favourites from Fullers.

Pours deep amber with a slight frthy hear that reduces quickly, but lasts. Aroma of toffee and whiskey. Very smooth up front, with notes of roasted malts, toffee and honey. Alcohol presents midway, enfiing in a bitter finish. Very nice beer.

Stunning colour, purpley mahogany with a lacing head that doesnt give up. Fist smell was cakey, dried fruit, and sticky sweet. Roast malt and nuts flavour with a spicy hop and charred finish, nutty, again, which lingered niceley for a few seconds alcohol evident at the end. Nice and worth the money easily.
