I am a huge fullers fan. I have liked every one of there beers. This was no exception. Pours an amber orange color with a small fizzy head. Smells like caramel, some dark fruit, sugar, and a bit of amber malt. Mouth feel is soft and taste is sweet semi spicy and malty. Great beer.

500 mL bottle. (Best before 09/07/09). Chestnut brown with a decent head. The aroma is malty-sweet with candied fruit and a little alcohol thrown in. It does not taste as sweet as it smells; it is actually nicely bitter. There is a spiciness to this beer, and the alcohol is very well hidden. At its best at cellar temp or above. Good beer, and I can see how it could continue to improve with age.

I tried this beer on November 2, 2007 after purchasing from my local LCBO outlet. The beer poured a translucent reddish brown colour with a generous tan coloured head which dissipated into little foam islands on the top of the beer. The aroma is malty with some hints of fruit tones and cloves. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a little carbonation, and some bitterness. The flavour is mainly malty, a little licorice, and a little bitterness.

Pours a dark amber with a thick, small bead, off-white head that doesn’t go away. Aroma is bread dough and freshly mown grass. Taste is quite good and well balanced. Rich malty sweetness subdued by mild hop bitterness. Maple syrup, caramel, licorice, and even a little grapefruit are all present. I like!

Pours a ver dark amber/ hazelnut/ chestnut brown with thick frothy head. Aroma of fruit and hops. Sweet maltiness up front with hints of sour fruit and a nice bitter/dry hoppy finish. Quite good.

Rich amber color, good head that dissipates quickly leaving some lacings. Buttery caramel and fruit aroma. Taste is similar with alcohol and some bitterness at finish. Minimal amount of earthiness.

[Sampled in 2005.] Wow, a great beer. I must try it again, because at that day I wasn’t prepared for anything. Defenately a higher note. Ingredientfull and bitter in a tough way.
