Nov 2, 2007 Updated: Oct 8, 2008Bottle. Copper/red color with an off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, sweet fruit, toffee, blackcurrant, caramel, citrus, spice and some yeast. Tastes of sweet and roasted malt, toffee, fruit, spices, marzipan, nuts, citrus and bread. Complex. Good balance between sweet malts and bitter hops. A bit strong in alcohol but still smooth and highly drinkable.

Oct 28, 2007 Good strong hop smell that means business. Looks like a full bodied ale. Pours with a decent head. Strong, smooth malt flavour and after taste.

Oct 28, 2007 Pours a dark honey ruby with good head. Bitter hops with a distincive wood and burnt sugar flavour. Dry finish with a hint of cream.

Oct 26, 2007 A huge head greeted me upon pouring this beer. The foam is light tan and the body is the color of dark honey. Waiting on the head to subside is misery because the beer looks so inviting. Aroma is very malty with fruit and coffee. Flavor is loaded with malt and bitterness. It is a delicious beer and provides more warming than the 6.3% ABV should. As well as malt there are lots of dark fruit, toffee, and spice flavors. This is a nice looking, smooth, flavorful, great smelling beer. What more should be said?

Oct 26, 2007 Very nice strong ale; lots of strong ales tend to have a overly alc. taste, but not this one. Porterish in style, lots of coffee, but also citrus fruits and some dark fruits. Bitter finish, and nicely balanced. Good!

smell - malts, some hops, toffee, a little coffee.
taste - clean malts, just a touch of citrus and prunes, ends dry and biter.

Oct 23, 2007 Dark Amber. Smells fruity and spicy. Tastes similar with more hops than I was expecting. Watery texture, not too fizzy. A good beer but I was expecting more.

Oct 22, 2007 Bottle. Poured a nice amber colour. Spicy and malty and a nice hoppy bite at the end. Great beer with a cool story behind it.
