Pours a bold brown brew with a hardy white head. Aroma is strong of fruit and alcohol. Taste is smooth, some malt and hops are balanced finely. A very good beer from one of my favourite brewers.

Drinking it as I write. Pours darker than expected: a wonderful deep russet, with a thin yet resilient milky head. Fruit and spice aroma, subtle caramel notes. Finishes with just enough bitterness. Great balance throughout.

Bottle. Pours deep brown with beige head. Aroma is fruit / spice / chocolate also malt and goldings too. Taste is a little on the thin side, it gives dates / hops / caramel leading to a smooth and balanced finish. A great beer.

A very refreshing and crisp ale, found it at BevMo. Pours deep amber-red color with a miniature beige head, very fizzy. Warming alcohol in the aroma with sugars and pale malts. Mild fruit nose on the flavor, some plum and raisin but mostly sweet malt, cinnamon and caramel. Finishes dry with plenty of carbonation on the palate. Not bad!

Had this beer on 8/25/1998. Color is a hazy red with good carbonation and nice head. Aroma is a sweet malt scent. Taste is rich and slightly bitter. starts with a medium body that goes down with a rich feel. Finish is a very sweet malt flavor baked by a light hop bitterness. Its a nisce tasty beer.

Pours rich dark copper/red with a beige head. Big malty caramel flavor, hints of chooclate, sweet cherry, damp wood, and spices. Light oxidatized flavors only lead to complexity, not distracting at all. Sherry and chocolate show in the finish. While thinner then expected on the palate, the depth of flavors really makes up for it. Chewy dates and light nutmeg begin to show as the beer warms. Hops are subtle, but provide the needed balance to keep this from being cloying.

Beer pours a deep clear amber colour with a beige head that has some decent sticky lacing. Aroma of spices and fruit, chocolate, and notes of orange zest. A bitter orange flavour hits the tongue first, wich melts into flavours of caramel and chocolate with light malt sweetness, the beer finishes with a dry bitter hop finish. Top Notch Beer, looking forward to drinking a few more of these.

Bottle conditioned and courtesy of the LCBO. This is what bottled beer is supposed to be like! Aroma is full of spices and rich fruits, and the lovely red body packs a whole lots of hops and dates. An excellent beer!
