Dry caramel aroma. Dark red color, lasting white head. Lace in glass. Medium to full bodied. Very dry and roasted flavor, dryness lasts with nice roasted tones.

Clear red color, short mostly diminishing head. Aroma of red wine, brandy, burned malts. Burned malty taste, licorice, tar, even a bit sour acidic. Palate is dry, and bitter, bitter as can be! Horrifying bitterness combined with an acidic/alcoholic finish. Again, a heavily overrated english style.

Bottle and I liked. Orange/Amber color with a big frothy head. Aroma is simple, hops and malt. Flavor is malty, bready, yeasty, sweet. More malt on the fnish. Not much hops at all. Sweet for sure, and I liked it dammit!

Rich foam head, long lasting and clumpy. Dark red/brown. Strong hops and finish. Very dry. Excellent and balanced. A beer that demands a little more time and reflection.

clear amber, giant thick light brown head. hoppy and slightly citrussy aroma. sweet, malty, caramelly, slightly dry flavor. sweetness and slight bitternes in the flavor lingers for long after you’ve sipped. very tasty and because of the dry hops, also quite drinkable almost quenching.

Re rate. Saved a bottle from the last time I sampled this beer to see if aging improved it and happily it did. Spicy golding hops with a background of nuts in the nose, hop grain and biscuits in the mouth and a chalky, hoppily bitter finish with a suggestion of tangerine. Previous rating only 3.4, age it for a year or two.

Big deep offwhite shiny lasting head. Dark brown body made hazy by suspended yeast particles. Fruity malty aroma with peppery roasty toffee notes. Deep rich sweet intensely malty fruity taste with roasty peppery toffee and chocolate notes. Dry wooden minty roasty aftertaste with faint hoppy notes. Some sherry/paper notes, probably from oxidization. Long spicy aftertaste of wood creosote. Harmonic and balanced. Lovely! An excellent beer. (0.5l bottle, Systembolaget, Göteborg. BBD 2009-08-14.)

Beautiful copper-red with thick long-lasting light-brown head with small bubbles. Sweet amlt, pepper, alcohol with notes of citrus-peels in aroma. Caramel, hops and white pepper in flavour. Bitter and slightly spicy alcoholic finish.
