Looks really nice in the glass, frothy brown head on top of a sparkling ruby liquid. Good balanced flavors. Balanced hops and malt flavors. Tastes a bit like a stronger version of the Fuller's ESB. An intersting sour and cinnamon flavor develops on the palate after the swallow. ucusty (1887), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 14, 2002 Thick, creamy, and complex! Dark unpolished bronze color with a tall rocky head. Nose is bready with hints of fruit and spice. Rich mouthfull that let me stroll through the ingredient list. Superb caramel maltiness gives way to soft cookie dough, then the bitter end leaves you with hints of hops and spices. A wonderful experience!
