Roasty aroma of fresh, crusty bread, a hint of coffee and a slight hops nose that becomes more prominent as the beer warms. Color is a nice deep reddish orange. Wow. This stuff is incredibly easy to drink. Goes down smooth and makes you beg for more. Flavor is roasty with a good helping of malt, a touch of fruit and a bit of alcohol. Finish is creamy and smooth with a slight hops bitterness and a nice alcohol warming. A very well balanced brew that is way to easy to drink for the 6+ % alcohol. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA

I agree with Kevin that the malt shines here, without as much of the thick sweetness as in the Vintage 1999. Here the drawback might be the palate is a tad thin. Wonderful long lingering malty finish, alcohol burns so slightly, aroma is heaven with a slice of spiced rum fruitcake. Real real good. Beautiful presentation. thornecb (1813), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Micro head with excellent staying power leaves significant lacing as it slowly recedes. Dried fruit and nutmeg notes. Creamy raisin and date up front with a lasting bitter spice finish. The taste is slightly bitter with a light alcohol bite. The overall flavor is very woody and nutty. The finish is very smooth with just a little hint of wood. This may be the worlds bet session beer. Great beer. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

You know you’re drinking something. The flavor is malt, nice sweet maltiness. I don’t get the "fruit cake" promised, and I’m one of those people who actually likes fruit cake. But this is a good English ale. JCB (1799), Durham, North Carolina, USA

A younger cousin of the Fullers Vintage is my basic impression of this one. A full bodied amber pour, the nose is big and spicy with some lush caramel malts in there as well. Very nice smooth palate, with mellow malts, not too sweet at all. Palidor19 (1798), Brandon, Florida, USA
