A nice red beer with a frothy white head. Aroma is of fresh wheat and sweet popcorn. A nice crispness comes from the hops, which are perhaps a bit overpowering. Nevertheless, this one easy drinking beer.

Orangish-brown and almost clear with a lacy beige cover. Toffee malt blends nicely with Goldings and some citrus in the aroma. Flavour is caramely melanoidin malt (a little spicy) with plenty of Goldings and maybe some fruitiness. Rasin and tobacco notes with prominent coffee flavour in the finish. Low to mild bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, warming from the alcohol. A nice drink, but not out of this world.

Pint bottle into an English pint glass. Pours amber/red with a thick and tight khaki head. The aroma is dusty malt with a hint of sour fruits. The flavor is minerally hard water and metal with malty bitterness, lots of biscuit, some citrus, and a chocolatey finish. The mouthfeel is big and creamy and the glass is covered with lace.

Source:Bottle at the brewery.
Glass:Taster glass.
Appearance:Clear red/brown pour with a two finger off white head.
Aroma:Caramel malt with grass, dark fruits and a hint of citrus.
Flavor:Caramel, dark fruits, a hint of smoke and a decidedly floral, bitter finish.
Palate:Medium/full body with solid carbonation.
Overall:Really enjoyed this. Was surprised with the complexity of the flavor.

Apricots, hops, honey and crackers in the nose. Salty. Peppery. Full bodied. Nicely balanced. Some walnuts showing up. The alcohol is rather pleasant. Wonderful finish with a hint of smoke, aniseed and heather. A great beer.

500 ml bottle. Red copper colour. Tall fluffy white head. Delicate malty and nutty aroma. Strong malty background. Distinct nutty flavours at first. Then a little more bitterness. Cocoa powder. Plums. Typical East Kent Goldings hops with a dry grassy flavour. Finish is dominated by hops and dry. Malts are very strong throughout with a distinct nutty maltiness and a light drying hoppy finish. Very characteristic, but I’m not entirely convinced by the slightly harsh edge of butter between malts and hops. But, still it is a wonderfully outstanding beer.
