A good beer, but nothing amazing. Pours a brown/red. Has a very standard beer aroma with some fruit and chocolate. Flavor of strong generic beer, dried fruit, and a little chocolate. Kind of a peppery taste with a good amount of bitterness.

Orangish-brown and almost clear with a lacy beige cover. Toffee malt blends nicely with Goldings and some citrus in the aroma. Great malt flavor with a dried fruit finish. Dates and prunes. Good mouthfeel caps off this top-notch beer.

Great big head, lovely color, somewhat dry, woody, spicy, citrus like in the bitterness. Been having a hard time finding it around here on the last search. Should I have stocked more bottles? Just afraid that they don't seem to cellar too long. When they get very old they tend to get "excitable" upon opening.

Dark amber/light brown color. Modest light tan head. Hops and malt aroma with hint of alcohol (like a cognac) and dark fruits. Early roast barley/coffee quickly followed by strong hops, then a warm alcohol finish (again, like a cognac).

Spicy aroma with hints of cinnamon and apples and caramel. Deep clear red color with a dense firm tan head. Intense flavors of toasted bread, burnt fruit, caramel with a tart finish and lingering bitterness. Very unique and bold.

Bottle. Dark amber/brown color. Caramel aroma, and caramel flavor. Some chocolates hidden in there, but it was mostly a roasted, caramel flavor as noted previously.

Actually, I’m quite impressed. This is very dry beer, somewhat like a good merlot wine. It is very smooth and very nice-looking: bright red body and thick white head. This is a sipping beer to go with a good steak.
