500ml Bottle - Copper with red tinges and a tan head. Fruity and malty aroma with raisins and marzipan. Rich, fruity and vinous taste with hints of alcohol, raisins and fruitcake, followed by a bittersweet finish.

A beautiful clear, dark red colored beer. With a thick beige foamed head. The aroma of roasted malts, caramel, a little coffee, a little chocolate and fruity. The taste of malts, bitter, sweet coffee and light chocolate, dark fruits like raisin. The aftertaste stay for awhile, gentle bitter and dry.

Bottle conditioned. heady aroma of pear drops, cinnamon and wet earth; superb frothy head and burnt orange body; sweet fruity creamness gives way to rasping malts. A standard for English strong ale to be judged by.

Amber/red color with a medium tan head that quickly dissipated. Aroma of roasted malt, hops(Goldings?) and a sort of gingerbread smell. Flavors of roasted malt, molasses, nuts with the bitterness of the hops finishing it off nicely.

yet another rerate of this beer. glowing amber-red, almost pink, with a creamy frothy head. fruit + toffee + goldings smells. taste starts with full, juicy, sweet, buttered-toast malt, then gradually dries up and becomes peppery and bitter, and maybe a bit medicinal. lingering taste of fruitcake with heaps of orange peel. this has a lot of class.

Bottle: Bottle conditioned. Ruby amber color, mostly clear, with a small tan head. Medium bodied. Aroma: very sweet and malty with notes of berries, honey, raisins, grapes, wood, cake, mild rum balls, blueberries. Taste: light roasted malts and caramel start things off, then there’s some medium spicy hops, earth, roasted notes, honey, light chocolate flavors, and light spices. Finishes very dry, roasty, and a tea like taste. Very nice, thanks to my secret santa for this one.

From the bottle.

Pours a dark red-brown with limited head. This is a complex, slightly smoky darker ale with fruity notes and a dry - though not strongly hopped - finish.

This one didn’t resonate with me, though it’s clearly a nice beer.
