Beer pours deep amber color with some head. The aroma is caramel and diacetyl. The flavor was a rich and complex blend of toasty bready malts, sweet caramel malts, spices and even a little grassiness. There was that butteriness, too, that wasn’t flattering and kept the beer from really being clean. A bitter hop finish attempted to balance things out, but not sure it succeeded. All in all, a pretty good example of the style.

Finished oak color with a medium creamy white lasting head. Aroma of bread, molasses, roasted malt with some fruit( pears?) and alcohol. Malt taste with some hop bite toward the back of the tongue. Smooth, pleasant mouthfeel, somewhat chewy, alcohol is noticable in taste and feel.

Bottle. Pours amber with a creamy head. Roasted malt, caramel, dried fruit, nuts and earthy hops. The malt is well balanced with a clean hoppy finish. A delicious beer.
