Dark red. Thick, large, light tan colored head. Aromas of tobacco, coffee, strawberry, and some raisin. Very rich and heavy. Flavors of dark chocolate, raisins, nutmeg, and butter. Aftertaste of sweet hops. Outstanding beer.

Bottle Conditioned, 2 years. Rich dark amber with thin head. Fruit, malt and port on the nose follows with a rich fruity body and quick drying hops. Great condition, lovely and smooth.

Dark reddish-amber color, with a small head. Strong malty aroma. It goes down surprisingly smooth, not to mention fast. The flavor is pretty complex; lots of caramel malts, with hints of fruit (I agree with kowl, there's some strawberry-like flavor in there). The hop balance is absolutely perfect. A great beer; similar in some ways to their ESB, but even more impressive.

Hmmm, the bottle says it’s the best bottle conditioned beer in Britain. Pretty boastful claims if you ask me. Really nice ruby color with a big bubbly head. Somewhat fruity aroma. Kind of fizzy in a small prickly way on the tongue while the spiciness of the beer pervaded my mouth. Sweet and also reminds me of a wonderful thick, crusty bread I used to have at a great restaurant where I grew up. Wow. Fuller’s...is there anything they can’t do?

Pours out a rich, amber color. Tan colored, huge, long-lasting head that slowly fades to a rich lace, and a creamy layer of bubbles. Aromas right away of cherry brandy, peaches, kiwi fruit, strawberries, and apricots. This stuff is a veritable fruit bowl in a bottle. Serving size - 18.6 oz. brown bottle. Rich maltiness to it, with fruity esters galore. On the sweet side to me. Surprizing hops bite at the finish of it. Goes down smoothly. Well balanced, superbly crafted English ale. Hard to find in my area, but worth the hunt. All in all, a really good example of brewing.

Appearance: dark, nigh-impenetrable amber hue, with a big, creamy head. Aroma: potent hoppiness, toasty and nutty, simmering with fruit notes, too. An admirable amount of complexity to be found in this nose, and it just gets spicier and fruitier as we drink it in. Taste: magnificent mouthfeel, warm, generous, almost dazzling. Doesn’t feel too "strong", but it does have a touch of the "old" about it, the first sip lets you know you’re tasting a legendary brew. Those flavors detected in the nose, noted above, all return and make merry in the mouth, gleefully ringing the senses with a most exceptional taste. Sweet, lively, sharp, distinct, full of tasty hops, richly resounding with a sparkling, coppery flavor. Medium-bodied, with full in the finish. There’s a Hell of a lot going on in this beer, and it’s quite an enjoyable libation, undoubtedly Fuller’s finest!

1 pt. 2.6 fl. oz. bottle pours a crystal clear deep amber red (garnet?) with a good off white head and lots of side and surface lace. The aroma is biscuity and with a hint of hops. The flavor is bread - like, sweet and malty, but finishes nice and hoppy dry. The palate is very nice and rich to balance with the good flavor. This is another fine Fuller product.

Very nice - gorgeous ruby/mahagony body with creamy tan head that minmizes quickly enough but maintains after that and leaves frothy lacing all the while. Bready and fruity and nutty and malty and buttery on the nose. Alcohol not completely hidden in this malty mouthful. Coats nicely with a medium mouthfeel, and then leaves very slowly with just a touch of bitterness to remind you that there are nice hops involved too. Really nice - I don’t know if I’m being tainted in my appreciation by the fact that I’m taking a beer-break while doing some OT on a Thanksgiving Monday, but this is damn good stuff. Gotta get more while the seasonal release is still upon us.
