The flavors are layered and have great interplay...Carbonation is suitably light...Body is full; it is quite smooth but with edges that bite a little---great mouthfeel! In sum, this is great drinking...Richness, complexity, harmony, substance---all here in ample measure...First rate! kumite56 (461), Cordova, Tennessee, USA

Nice balance of malt and hopps. Complex. A good example of an english strong ale. This exceeded my expectations and will be on my repurchase list. hopscotch (5493), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Slightly hazy, deep copper ale. Large, rocky, beige-colored head. Good lacework.
The nose is full of stuff: Raisins, light molasses, yeast (bread dough), tawny port and caramel.
The flavor matches the aroma. A medley of many rich things; caramel and molasses foremost. Fairly well-balanced.
Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Excellent finish! Lengthy, bittersweet and moderately alcoholic. Reminds me of a good scotch ale. A winner! mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aroma consists of fruit (cherry, apricots) and roasted malts. Flavour is a beautiful mix of fruit, roasty toasy malts and spices. A great mix of taste without having either the typical citrus, chocolate or coffee. Finish is dry and fruity with a hoppy bite. A superbly crafted ale. Wrath (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
