Comes in the great chunky Fuller's brown bottle..as always a simple but great label.
This is a wonderful beer to look at,dark chestnut brown , when first poured a large slightly off-white head..that shrinks but always leaves a nice lace covering.
LOvelly fresh chocolaty roasted malts..I detect some pleasant alcohol too..its pretty nice..some yeast.
An exeptional tasteing brew .. the malts appear first but are not too sweet..smooth and dark chocolaty..later theres a buttery buiscuity taste then some nice alcohol warmth in the throat, to go with the surfacing hops!
Very comfortable in the mouth not over bearing.
A very very drinkable ale..nice stuff.
I have become a real fan of bottle conditioned beers and Fuller's does them best EdPaulsen (117), Kansas City, Missouri, USA

This is the only brewery I ever toured in England and I don’t recall this being one of the offerings. I have been passing this one up for a long time and i am sorry I have. Wholy yeasty but not offensive. Beneath is a a plathora of flovours; hops, rosted malt and dried cherry. Love it. mikenodak (142), Fargo, North Dakota, USA

Good cold, but more flavor released when warmer. A.J. Powerful in aroma and palate: Overwhelming in splendour and freshness. Deep in character and fragrance. Just enough carbonation to keep it refreshing. Well balanced with hops and sugar. It isn’t dry, not sweet, just right! It’s GOOD! Frank (1067), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Thick, slightly reddish head leaves sheets of lace for the whole glass. Fruity malt aroma. Front is slightly sweet. Flavors of apple, caramel, and alcohol become more pronounced as the beer warms. Dry, slightly acidic finish. Full flavored, well balanced, and delicious.
