It has a rich and full palate with a almost bitter sweet finish. This is not the type of beer that you can have anytime but it goes well at the end of a meal with dried fruits and cheese. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA

I tried this beer on November 2, 2007 after purchasing from my local LCBO outlet. The beer poured a translucent reddish brown colour with a generous tan coloured head which dissipated into little foam islands on the top of the beer. The aroma is malty with some hints of fruit tones and cloves. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a little carbonation, and some bitterness. The flavour is mainly malty, a little licorice, and a little bitterness. jhagmar (114), Gothenburg, Sweden

Pours a lovely golden copper with an off-white head that lasts well. Nose is packed with notes of toffee, rum, golden syrup, banana and malt. Very smooth mouthfeel with flavours of caramel, brown sugar, malt as well as a very nice bitterness that blends very well with the sweeter notes, although the beer isn’t as sweet as it sounds. Very nice indeed.
