Nice and rich redness in the color. Bready and yeasty nose. Cool and easy-flowing mouthfeel quickly turns to a rich and creamy thickness. Has a nice malty bitterness about it. The texture seems to solidify in your mouth! Seriously, take some in, let it sit on your tongue for sec, and then realize what I’m talking about. It really does thicken with time! Fresh yeast flavors linger about. This beer is super malty with a rich bitterness in the finish. Toasted caramel nuances exude. Some soft and bitter, low-note hops are ever present.

Attractive reddish-amber colour with a light tan head. It has a toasty aroma with a hint of caramel, yeasty earthiness and light goldings. The flavour is fairly robust, leaning towards dry malt notes like toast, as well as earthy notes which I find contributed by both the hops and yeast. It’s an earthy, woody brew with some gentle but insistent bitterness. The Fuller’s yeast comes to the fore here, more so than in any of their other beers. Good, robust ale...perhaps not as good as when I first had it (as beer 999 back in 1998) but still solid.

Bottle. Dark amber body, really nice off-white head, malt and Goldings in the nose. NICELY balanced caramel notes, herbal earthy hops.

Bottled: Noes is full of hops, aroma and bitter. Light hints of fruit, flowers and some sweet malts. Red color, foamy beige head. Only few malt sweetness, some toffe. Intensive hop flavor, citrus, flowers and bitter hops. Dry , quite bitter finish. Very good.

Huge head of fine bubbles. Creamy on top and light tan in color. Roasty aroma of fresh, crusty bread, a hint of coffee and a slight hops nose that becomes more prominent as the beer warms. Color is a nice deep reddish orange. Wow. This stuff is incredibly easy to drink. Goes down smooth and makes you beg for more. Flavor is roasty with a good helping of malt, a touch of fruit and a bit of alcohol. Finish is creamy and smooth with a slight hops bitterness and a nice alcohol warming. A very well balanced brew that is way to easy to drink for the 6+ % alcohol.
