Aroma is Goldings hops, spice, some fruit, delicately sweet malt. Flavour is big and wonderful. Lots of spice, cake, fruit, some chocolate notes, dry bitter finish. Very complex, lots going on. Great beer. Very warming and soft in the mouth. davidpl (435), Santiago, Chile
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2008 Appearance: copper color. Medium to great head with beige color and persistency.
Aroma: caramel malts, toast sugar and intensive fruity aromas like peaches, red-apples and oranges. Some nutty taste, liquory truffles, red tea and light wood smells.
Flavor: intensive caramel malts and butterscotch star, not sickly, balanced for the dryness from the toast. Nutty and light smoke taste. Sweet ripe fruitiness like red-apples, peaches and candied oranges and papayas. Other reminiscences of red-tea, chamomile and old rum. Medium to high dryness, lasting, similar to stone of peaches, orange peel and medicinal herbs.
Palate: medium body with silky texture. Low to medium carbonation.
Remark: a nice fruity and medicinal herby dryness. Some complex beer, balanced and with own-character. Very advisable.

Malty with good body. Opens sweet and fades into a well-established hop finish with cherry and caramel notes. Smoke interplays with light citrus. Very well brewed beer. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Pours a dark reddish brown with a thin off-white head with good lace. Aroma of dried fruit and slightly skunky hops (slightly septic?) Wonderful roasty flavour, flavouring hops come in right away and steal the show - very nutty and dry. Slightly skunky, again "septic" flavour, but the crystal malt overcomes any skunkiness in the aftertaste, and it’s nothing but the Goldings and the toffee-nuttiness to finish - very very dry. High carbonation causes a foaming in the mouth, giving it a bit of a cream body. Very nice beer, very very dry. This would be better if fresh, but I’ll try to take that into account. Many thanks to Thaichile for the bottle! scanovajr (361), Stanford, California, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 28, 2007 Aroma is semisweet with a very grain/oats based scent. Pour is excellent wtih a dark hue and a highly carbinated essense that leads to a thick head. Mouthfeel is very smooth with a long lasting flavor base. Flavor is very hoppy with a hint of dried fruit. wetherel (1627), Encinitas, California, USA

Nice color. Above average beer I like it. I’ve seen it at the stores for a while, but this is the first time I’ve tried it.
Rerate: 4/11/08. Nice malty aroma. Easy to drink everyday beer. Exact same rating.
