Huge head with staying power. deep amber in color. Very full in taste - Hoppy, malty, and fruity all in one! I really like this style. Highly carbonated. Great beer.

Great beer! Beautiful head. Very complex yet it all came together and went down smooth. Not as good as the ESB in my opinion.

Standard English ale appearence with chocolate and coffee hints in the aroma and flavour. The beer is good but is slightly over bitter for my taste at times.

I like this one but don't love. Down sides finished with hardly any fizz and left a really bitter after taste. Yet now the bitterness has left my mouth and I have a very nice sweet nutty taste. Very nice colour(UK spelling) and smells great. Very drinkable and it has a nice flavor while its being drunk but the initial aftertaste is a turn off. I guess this is a much more high scale verson of bass ale. It needs to be a touch sweeter with a little more fizz. I would drink it again though.

My trip through the nicer Fullers products continues. Lovely bronze color with a tan and lasting head. Good lacings, very lacy. Not very big in the nose but very big and malty in the mouth. The hops are there bittering but not really aromatic. Not as biscuit-ish and bread like as the Ale and the Vintage but big malty flavors, nonethe less. The finish is well balanced between the malt and the bitter.

This was a very interesting beer to drink, I believe it was my first English Strong Ale. Incredible taste, with some very interesting subtelties. Extremely balanced in the taste, with a slightly malty aftertaste, but very subtle. Bittersweet, more sweet than bitter, more bitter than sweet. Very drinkable, and easy on the palate.

A very nice copper coloration and BIG light tan head start off this brew. The nose is a bit malty, with some sweetness and fruit notes as well. Also quite nice, though it could be a bit stronger! The flavor is very well balanced between the malt and sweetness, and has a nice little burst of hoppiness in the finish. In a style that never made much of an impression on me, this one certainly does...a very well made beer!
