This is a 6.3% alcohol by volume bottle conditioned ale that pours with a dark amber color and a thick beige colored head. The nose is unusual and complex, with some dried citrus rind, coffee, sherry, and dry wood tones. The flavor is equally complex and impressive: a rich blend of roasted barley, toasted nut, caramel, hops, coffee with woody flavors (yes: woody flavors). Finish is warm and bitter, a little on the dry side but very, very satisfying. It is difficult to refrain from chugging this ale. It is slightly sweet, bitter, and very rich in flavor.

This beer is good all around. It has a really long lasting aftertaste that is enjoyable to the end.

I’ve always liked this one. Pours a deep amber, small head. Aroma is malty, some nuts, dark fruits, cereal malts. Flavor is a bit bitter up front, good malt ride round the middle, fading to dates, raisins, spicy hops, and a bit of dark chocolate. Good stuff!

The one outstanding feature of this beer is it's aroma. When you have a glass nearby it smells if beer, and love, and all those other things that go with beer. The flavour was a bit of a let down, I tasted more smoke (vaguely "ham" like) than any spices, and found the aftertaste to linger a bit too long. It's a good beer, but I think it'll become a dinner beer for me, not a sit around with the lads beer.

Reddish brown color, thick white head. Aroma of fruit jam. Flavor of malt and fruit jam with a bitter finish. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very good beer, so far Fullers beer are amazing.

Another cracker from Fullers, pours a lovely brick red with a long lasting off white head. Aroma is malty with a toasty cocoa taste.

Poured from the bottle, brown with a ruby tint and a full and slightly rocky brownish head. The malty aroma is strong, with some molasses and tobacco. An unexpected bitter flavour roasted malt with some fruits there too. The sharp tangy finish is the only indication of its strength. Very nice and well worth its rating.

(Cask, The Wharf, Aalborg) - Deep golden colour. Very soft mouthfeel, with a dry malty and vinous taste, and a slightly hoppy finish.
