Bottle number 00890 thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a white head and a hazy golden body. Aroma of oak, licorice, dry caraway, apple, plum and toffee. Taste is plum, cherry, oak and dark fruits. Sweet overall, with mild carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a clear, deep golden with an off-white head. Weird aroma. Medicinal? Tart. Flavour is sort of malty and tart with cereals. Don’t really know what to make of it. Meh. 26-09-09.

Bottle. Dark amber colour with a beige head. Aroma: Very malty, lightly sour, sweet, oak, vanilla, toffee, berries, spices, raisins. Flavor: Malty, sweet, oaky, lightly sour, vinous, caramel, toffee, vanilla, raisins, english bitter orange marmelade, spices, light hopiness, light alcohol. Oaky and a bit bitter finish. Much better then that Innis & Gunn stuff.

bottle no:08352. Thick beige foam on top of the clear dark amber liquid. Too much carbonation at first. Maybe I poured it bad. if you leave it stand a while and warm up a little too it is not the same beer anymore: very strong warmth in your body and gets to the head in no time. more points for the pretty cardboard box. Rich flavored, a bit sour in the middle and in the end more. sweet too. Oak. an artificial vanilla flavor in the end does not please me at all. the final aftertaste after a minute or two is not very good. Peach marmelade I would say. Heavy malts are nice. Wonder which whisky barrel it was in. Feels like bourbon sweet liquor. It gets better all the time...

50cl dark brown bottle, as shown (No.19,216). Beautiful hazy dark amber colour – big, creamy off-white head with plenty of lacing. Intense aroma of orange, toffee and whiskey. Low carbonation, generally creamy, but slightly grainy mouth feel. The effect of 500 days of storage in old whiskey casks is immediately noticeable, creating a superbly balanced taste of fruit, whiskey and roasted malt. Bitter and dry hoppy finish, long-lasting medium bitter aftertaste in which the different notes are still „at play“ long after the last sip is gone. This is beer with a capital „B“. Sure, it’s expensive – but I honestly think that strong ale doesn’t get any better than this. Fuller’s have done it again!
