(Bottle, one year old) Pours copper amber with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is oaky up front with notes of wood, light vanilla, light whisky and light smoke. Sweet berries and black currant tea alongside toasted and caramelly malt makes the nose rather sweet. Light oxidized hops with notes of cheese and oranges. Some strange, bretty hints of dust and sweaty horse blanket (maybe from the oak?). A touch of marmalade is also notable. The flavour is light to medium sweet, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic with clear notes from the oak - whisky, vanilla and wood. The caramel malt backbone blends well with the whisky. Dusty, earthy and spicy hops. The mouthfeel is round and near medium carbonated. The beer finishes with clear notes of vanilla-like whisky and warming alcohol. Medium bodied. I really like Fuller’s but this is a quite mediocre beer.

500ml Bottle - Amber in colour with a lively head. Very intriguing aroma with hops, berries, orange and a slightly smoky and musty hint. The taste is rich and fruity with dried fruit, hops, marzipan, Christmas cake and some smoky notes. The whisky elements are noticeable, yet nicely balanced.

(on bottle) I like english ales and I like whiskey/whisky too. So opening this quite expensive beer, I was curious indeed. Dark chestnut, quite a big head for a beer having spend 500 days in a cask. The carbonation brings a quite bourbon-ish aroma to me........and not much else. I wait for the temprature to rise; the sweetness of cornwhiskey are followed by some woodyness.........and not much else.Getting warmer, close to too warm I get a mouthfeel like whiskey delutted in too much water and tobacco. Now the bottle are empty and I suspect myself forbeing a beersnob, buying beer at this price..............and not much else.

500 ml bottle. Clear reddish orange colour, frothy off-white head. Sweet, fruity aroma, with vanilla and whisky. The flavour is caramel-malty, fruity, with some smokiness, whiskey notes and alcohol warmth. Quite nice, but certainly not the best oak aged beer that I’ve tasted.

Bottle, 50cl. Bottle No 19709. Pours an orange beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is sweet, plum, raisin, vanilla and wood. The flavor is nice rounded with fruit and sweetness. The palate is smooth and has a good feel. Overall a good beer.

500 ml bottle. It poured a clear amber liquid with a medium foam and a nice lacing. Smelled of vanilla and tasted sweet with a sour aftertaste. An ok beer.
