Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
Ingredients: Pale malt; Northdown and Challenger hops. Dry hopped with Goldings.
GBBF Champion Beer 1989.
Slight change of recipe in 1999.
Chiswick Bitter is Fuller’s popular session strength ale, which derives its name from the area of London where Fuller’s is based. This lower strength beer is held in high regard across the South East of England and, like its stablemates London Pride and ESB, has won the prestigious CAMRA Great British Beer Festival, Beer of the Year award, in 1989. In fact, Fuller’s is the only brewery in England whose top three brands have won this award: a fitting testament to the skill and dedication of the Fuller’s brewers!

Cask @ Blackbird, Earl’s Court SW5. Pours a clear pale amber color with a small longlasting white head. Has a fruity malty weak hoppy aroma. Fruity malty slightly hoppy flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty hoppy finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

cask @ Whisle and Flute Putney. It was a decent beer. The ’bitter’ style bores me. ESB’s are cooler and more my bag.Citrusy and salty. I dunno sweet pale malt with dish water. Eazy to sink and ok.

Nice bright English hop nose, citric and sweet. Bright and acidic in the mouth with a delightful pink grapefruit finish. Oily and still. This is actually lovely, very interesting and drinkable.

Cask @ Bon Accord. Light brown nut colour, off-white head. Aroma has a hint of malts. Flavour has caramel malts, sour cookie dough. Bitter finish. Watery.

On cask. Poured a pale translucent amber with no head and the minimalist of lacing. Aroma was of pollen which I’ve come to associate with goldings and detest as a worthless variety of hop and the malt was striclty subdued, that or the beer was perhaps too cold. The flavor was of unsweetened ice tea and dandelion pollen, I kid you not. The palate was also thin and watery. Overall the beer was barely any more bitter than a budweiser. Never Again.

Great English Bitter. Nice color and flavorful on the tongue. A great choice for a session beer.

Duke of WInship. Pours less than medium yellow with sizzling white head. Lots of white lace afterward in glass. Faint aroma, seemigly blocked by cleanser in glass. Decent bitterness, particularly at 3.5%. Slightly less than average mouthfeel.
