Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
Ingredients: Pale malt; Northdown and Challenger hops. Dry hopped with Goldings.
GBBF Champion Beer 1989.
Slight change of recipe in 1999.
Chiswick Bitter is Fuller’s popular session strength ale, which derives its name from the area of London where Fuller’s is based. This lower strength beer is held in high regard across the South East of England and, like its stablemates London Pride and ESB, has won the prestigious CAMRA Great British Beer Festival, Beer of the Year award, in 1989. In fact, Fuller’s is the only brewery in England whose top three brands have won this award: a fitting testament to the skill and dedication of the Fuller’s brewers!

On tap at British Beer Company. Tasted very thin and not very flavorful compared to the Fullers ESB that I had immediately prior to this. Next time will stick with the ESB and not bother with this one.

Cask/handpump at the Admiral Nelson in Whitton. Pours a red-brown with a thin head, it’s dry-hopped so it’s no surprise to find floral hops on the nose as well as malt. Crisp and dry on the palate, with a clean bitter finish. A lovely session beer.

Cask. Dark amber color with a thin head. Malt and yeast in the aroma. Not much in the taste. Light bitter finish. Not bad. Typical cast ale for London, I suppose.

Cask. Cognac colour, quite big, white head. Enjoyed at room temperature.Aroma of damp wool, pear, red wine. Taste ok, but the finish is too short.

Cask (@Victoria, Paddington): A bit unclear, golden coloured, small, lacy white head; distinctive dry aromatic hoppy nose with a light fruity-malty background; solid dry bitter flavour, light bodied; short, but solid bitter-aromatic finish. Good session ale................

Cask 0.25L at Black Door RALE. Thin head, large bubbles. Pale golden brown colour. Mild grapefruity taste. Crispy hoppiness. Average maltiness. Fresh and fruity. Long lasting hoptaste.

Cask. At The Princes Head, Richmond. Deep amber pour, clear, average head. What’s there to say, really? - floral with a slight rye tang to the malt, slightly sour tasting and a bit "green" somehow. Average everything - frankly it’s a bitter, it’s the usual thing, it quenched my thirst but the Fullers ESBs I had after my obligatory "haven’t rated it, have to have it" was a lot better.
