Commercial Description:
Bottled, Pasteurised.
This delicious, premium blonde ale from Fuller’s is the perfect combination of unbeatable flavour and refreshment.
Brewed using a unique blend of malted barley and wheat for a delicious malty taste bursting with rich, biscuity flavours, Liberty hops are then added for a distinctive zesty character and fruity bite, whilst Saaz hops add a gentle bitter taste for a clean, refreshing finish.
In cask, Discovery is 3.9% ABV, while in bottles the strength is 4.5% ABV.
Discovery tastes great served chilled, and its light, refreshing character makes it a perfect accompaniment to many foods.

500ml bottle (pasteurised) from Tesco. Old gold colour. Pours with a fluffy white head that soon subsides to just a collar. Although I assume this is a filtered beer there was a little light sediment. The aroma is slightly herbaceous, with hints of green apple, but there’s also a papery taint. Not a huge amount of flavour. Restrained biscuity malt and light grassy hops. Mouthfeel is clean, crisp and fairly dry. A distinctly lagerish beer, which I presume is what was intended. I guess it would be OK for summer quaffing, but there’s not a lot of depth to it. Nothing faulty here but, overall, a rather empty experience. The extra alcohol in the bottled version doesn’t add much.

Nice golden colour with a minimal head. Aroma with a little honey. Tastes malty and fruity. At the end a little citrus.A very light beer, could need more taste.

Not bad, not great, smells like honey and hops, enjoyable enough but not inspiring

330 ml bottle. Pours clear golden/orange. Mostly lasting, big near-white head. Sweetness from dried fruits and malt in the aroma. Notes of grassy hops and cookies. Clean malty taste; moderately hopped with some sweet citrus notes. Light body. A bit watered down mouthfeel. Short, light bitter finish.

Warm golden with a moderate head. Both aroma flavour are malty with notes of honey and fruit/aroma hops, and the flavour also has bread-like notes. I cannot find the wheat though. The finish has slight bitterness and citrus notes. I would like more power in the flavour.

Bottle. Light looking golden beer with a nicely hopped and caramel aroma. The flavour is gently bitter, watery and caramel at the finish. Overall a nice beer.

Bottled. An orange coloured beer with no head. Decent hoppy aroma with fruits especially oranges. Taste has some good orange notes also. Fairly nicely fruity but there’s a tinny soapy effect from the pasteurization. Decent enough though
