Commercial Description:
Bottled, Pasteurised.
This delicious, premium blonde ale from Fuller’s is the perfect combination of unbeatable flavour and refreshment.
Brewed using a unique blend of malted barley and wheat for a delicious malty taste bursting with rich, biscuity flavours, Liberty hops are then added for a distinctive zesty character and fruity bite, whilst Saaz hops add a gentle bitter taste for a clean, refreshing finish.
In cask, Discovery is 3.9% ABV, while in bottles the strength is 4.5% ABV.
Discovery tastes great served chilled, and its light, refreshing character makes it a perfect accompaniment to many foods.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head which dissapears and leaves a small ring left on the edges of the glass. Aroma of apricot and marmelade (something which I find common in Fullers beers - the house flavour?), lightly flowery too. Flavour is similar; very light notes of apricot and marmelade finishing with a flowery bitterness. It’s a bit thin in the flavour though. Palate is smooth, lightbodied, with soft to medium carbonation. Rather okay.

33cl bottle from Meny Liertoppen. Pours light yellow with a medium white head. Aroma of flovers, flavor of citrus. Easy to like blond beer that is very good in the summer.

12 July 2009 Rude Strand; I am not a fan of beer that smells flower. Despite this, this was not at all bad. Good looking and easy drinking.

Bottle. Polished brass color, anemic "bubbly" head. Aromas do not bode well… honeyed malt, citrus and banana, reedy scents, shampoo and pina colada, and burning styrofoam. Yuck! Slightly better (or rather, less offensive) taste is neutral and woody with a faint soapy character. Mild spicy-grassy hop finish leads to a grassy banana aftertaste. The mouthfeel is light and buttery with restrained carbonation. There is an overall metallic flavor. Pretty effing bad.

Bottle from Waitrose. Gold with a white head. Pretty much like the cask version, an inoffensive, unchallenging beer aimed at luring unsophisticated lager drinkers. Fullers could do so much better if they tried!

500 ml bottle. Light amber-orange colour, thin white head. Malty aroma with citrus fruits and grassy hops. The flavour is malty, with a hint of honey and a bitter hoppy finish. A little dull, far from the best Fullers beers.

The beer has a pretty fruity and sweet aroma with traces of malt, hops and grass. The flavor is also fruity, sweet and lightly bitter. Then it has a light body with a refreshing finish.
