Commercial Description:
Bottled, Pasteurised.
This delicious, premium blonde ale from Fuller’s is the perfect combination of unbeatable flavour and refreshment.
Brewed using a unique blend of malted barley and wheat for a delicious malty taste bursting with rich, biscuity flavours, Liberty hops are then added for a distinctive zesty character and fruity bite, whilst Saaz hops add a gentle bitter taste for a clean, refreshing finish.
In cask, Discovery is 3.9% ABV, while in bottles the strength is 4.5% ABV.
Discovery tastes great served chilled, and its light, refreshing character makes it a perfect accompaniment to many foods.

Bottle 0,33l. Golden colored. A rapidly disappearing fluffy head. Aroma of caramel. Light fruity and malty flavor. Well rounded. Pleasant aftertaste with some fruity bitterness. Refreshing. KI=6.

Drinks well enough, the aroma promises a little more than the taste delivers. Fruity sweet aroma, orangey golden body and the taste is straightforward but uninteresting.

Pours a nice golden color. The flavor was fruity and mildly sweet. Light and easy beer to drink.

33 cl bottle, bought at Ultra, Hinna. Dark golden to amber color, ok off-white head. Aroma is fruity and sweet malt, also some hoppy notes. Flavor is malt with sweetness, fruit and hoppy bitterness. The body is not bad for a low-alcohol beer.

I’ve had this on cask, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this bottle in my local supermarket in Oslo. Fruit, cereals, grapefruit, well balanced and refreshing. One of the better British Golden ales, who often tend to be boring.

330 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a rather small off/white head. Aroma is malty, caramel and surprisingly fruity. Flavor is sweet malt, some caramel, fruit and a balanced bitterness. This beer has actually a impressive body and balance at only 4,2 ABV. A nice session beer.

Bottle from supermarket. Not what I’d call a blonde by any stretch. Orangey brown colour with pale white head that rapidly disappears. Pleasant malt aroma with a flowery/citrus undertone. Too thin for its ABV it lacks punch on the palate. Slight bitterness in the finish is overwhelmed by the sweetness and leads to a lack of character. I can imagine this being a decent cask-conditioned real ale and the bottle version would certainly benefit from secondary fermentation.
