Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
This delicious, premium blonde ale from Fuller’s is the perfect combination of unbeatable flavour and refreshment.
Brewed using a unique blend of malted barley and wheat for a delicious malty taste bursting with rich, biscuity flavours, Liberty hops are then added for a distinctive zesty character and fruity bite, whilst Saaz hops add a gentle bitter taste for a clean, refreshing finish.
In cask, Discovery is 3.9% ABV, while in bottles the strength is 4.5% ABV.
Discovery tastes great served chilled, and its light, refreshing character makes it a perfect accompaniment to many foods.

Cask pint at NERAX on 5/4/07
Gotta hand it to Fullers, just like the London Pride, this stuff was flawless, perfectly attenuated and tastefully hopped. Bright condition, with a copper-gold color, moderate amber highlights and a foamy white head that sits at cover, leaving light lacing.
Lovely maltiness with that vintage smell to it; bready (lightly), oily and just very wooden. I guess wooden is what I mean by vintage. Smells like being in an apartment with lots of antique furniture. Or something like that. Some light cream notes add ample sweetness and dainty hops add light floral notes, a bit of lemon and a combination of herbal-orange qualities that give it an almost tea-like note. Very light and easygoing beer in the nose (and flavor).
Some pert bitterness is quickly vanishing, leaving traces of tangerine and lemon, while bits of grains brush the palate and some light sugars are yielded. More of the wood-like, nicely-kilned malt flavors, just barely toasted. A bit of breadiness adds a touch of heft/body and a soft bitterness lingers pleasantly on the end. Lovely, soft, engaging carbonation and a medium to medium-light body overall with a spritzy, drinkable texture. No alcohol or flaws noted.

Cask. Quite hoppy aroma. Copper colour. Looks flat. Small white creamy head. Mild hoppy flavour, also a little malty. Citrusy hoppiness. Low carbonation and soft, creamy mouthfeel. Very drinkable without being thin or boring.

Casked. Dark golden colour, big bubbly head. Bitter fruity aroma. Fruity flavour which grows into a huge hoppy finish. Very smooth. Gets more pleasant as you drink. Also some caramellish/honeyish notes in flavour.

Cask Conditioned, at the Crosse Keys, London.
Golden, bright, with a soft white head. Pineapple and summer fruits, light and very quaffable. Clean with a smooth bitter finish. Very refreshing and very exciting to know that I can get this beer at most Fullers pubs in London.
