| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2007 Cask at Volo Cask Days 2007. (And also at Volo back in the spring, although I somehow forgot to rate it then...) Hazy orange colour with a faint head. Aroma is floral and herbal, with some fruity malt and a hint of tea. Flavour follows the aroma pretty closely, with some citrus coming through in the finish. Like the cask version of the Pride, this is a great session ale, albeit a slightly stronger one. blankboy (3225), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Cask at ’Volo Cask Days ’07’. Pours a cloudy amber-orange with a spare lasting bubbly white head. Nice aroma of fruit, floral hops and a hint of spices. Flavour’s also fruity along with some mild hops, some toastiness, a hint of spices and a decent bitter finish. Average bodied. Refreshing and easy to drink. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Cask. At Volo Casks Days ’07. How the HELL did I not have this when I was in England?!!! Ah well ... Clear amber pour, avearge frothy head. Pretty typical dry floral hop aroma backed with slightly tangy light malt ... a little tea-like and fruity, like most decent ESBs (almost a 7, but I was grumpy). The taste followed - light, more or less flat, mildly orange-pekoe hop bitter and light gently toasted malt backing .... nothing spectabular, but solid, and in decent shape - a good maintenance beer in the middle of a tasting session with double IPAs and Peche Mortel on offer .... beergut111 (210), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Had to have a few of to apprectiate it (hard to taste anything after all the hopocalypse). Fruit flavour (raisins?) and mildly hoppy throughout. Good stuff tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Really fruity aroma, with dry hops - unique and nice. Taste is malt, lots of citrus, appreciable bitterness. Complex and satisfying yet refreshing. It has been over 10 years since I have had this - I was pretty happy to get reacquainted!
