| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 12, 2005 Updated: Mar 31, 2005As nose meets glass, Golden Pride exudes a strong smell of alcohol, too strong for my tastes because it masks the smells of oak and cinnamon which can be found on closer inspection. The beer is a dark amber/red in colour, fairly attractive with a quickly diminishing head. After tasting one must again feel that alchol plays to large a part and that although it provides a pleasant, warming finish, the other flavours in this beer are simply not strong enough to compete. A pleasant beer, but the drinker must seek out the notes beyond the alcohol as they do not immediatly reveal themselves. CampbellWilson (533), Scotland

Complex aroma; malty, hoppy, honey, dark fruits and more. What a fantastic beer. Malty but balanced well with the hops at the finish. Slightly sweet, brown sugar taste with some toffee as well. Wonderfully smooth, rounded and full bodied. One of the world’s best beers. Fantastic.
