Rich and malty aroma but also a little boozy. The taste follows the aroma perfectly, but this had a surprisingly bitter aftertaste, the sweetness which is always there is totally counterbalanced by the bitterness, great stuff. Lovely ruby colour, small head. Warming, comforting and smooth with a sweet caramel taste. Unusual to see this on cask but always a nice treat. I have been drinking this beer for many years in bottled form but the cask version is much better in my opinion. leaparsons (4725), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

This is a rare beer to see on cask - or bottled for that matter.
The name is misleading, it is dark ruby rather than golden. Ripe fruit and berries, Vinous. Blackcurrants, rowan berries. A little oxidized, but not unpleasantly so. One of the best from Fullers, it should be more available. maeib (4717), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

Strong in all departments and warming. The fruit though can be brash and harsh and the body not smooth. Having said that it’s got some good qualities, especially the malty warming elements. Misses some tricks though.
