The smell is not as powerful as I had anticipated. Plenty of malts and butterscotch. Decent amount of floral and citric hop aromas. Some fresh carrots as well.
There’s plenty of malts and sweet flavors in the taste. Quite bready. Butterscotch, toast, caramel. Tasty hop flavors - lemon peel and grapefruit. Some herbs and carrots. Slightly earthy. The bitterness in the finish has somewhat of a calming feel to it - quite restrained, yet still prominent. Some faint spices and a hint of mineral round everything of.
Medium body. Plenty of carbonation. Still, it feels quite dull in the mouth.
A refreshing English IPA - very easy to drink. But considering that it’s an IPA, it’s aromas and flavors are slightly too restrained, I think. The hop character could have been more pronounced, although English IPA:s usually don’t pack as much hops as the American ones do. Also, I think the diacetyl level is slightly too high in this one. But still, a good beer.
