It is a good Brown Ale.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 18, 2004 This is a great beer, but I'm not sure why it's classified as an IPA. It simply didn't have the barrage of intense hop flavors that I expected from a beer of this type. Instead, I tasted a moderately hoppy ale with a great sweet, caramel flavor. It poured an attractive amber with a mammoth head (from bottle), leaving sheets of lace behind. Mouthfeel was incredibly smooth, going down full and creamy, but not too thick. I didn't experience the wealth of hops that I feel should identify a brew as an IPA, but otherwise this is an excellent beer. Skip (206), Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 15, 2004 Lacked the full hops taste and aroma that I expected in an IPA. Likewise, the head was on the thin side. Good, but not great. Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2004 Malty, fruity aroma, some light nutty, caramel and butterscotch along with some distinctively herbal, flowery hop notes. Medium orange-amber color, faintly hazy, with a fine, creamy head. Balanced flavor profile, malt and hops accented almost equally, with a goodly amount of caramel and sugary sweetness meeting the fruity, herbal hop flavors and bitterness. Finish is largely dry and hoppy with a very small amount of lingering malt. Palate is exceedingly smooth and creamy, body is medium. Very drinkable once it warms properly. atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 5, 2004 Clear copper color. There is a sweet aroma with noticable English hops. The taste is sweet and dry along with being moderately hopped. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2004 Bottle. Poured beautiful clear amber with a large white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a generous dose of floral hops. Flavor is also sweet and hoppy, kind of watery with a dry finish. Medium body and smooth carbonation. Not bad at all, this could be a good session ale. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 18, 2004 Good copper color. Head disappeared rather quickly, decent lacing. A sweet hoppy initial taste with a mild hop finish. A decent beer, would have liked a bigger hop finish. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
