| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 14, 2004 Clean light copper color with a small amound of head off of a careful pour. Aroma is sweet with floral and cirtus notes, and has a burnt caramel tone to it as well. Flavor is not nearly enough hopped to be a real good IPA in my book. It only ends with a little oily bitterness. Baroque1977 (25), Southeastern, Massachusetts, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 11, 2004 Too much malt, very much lacking in hop charachter for style. Somewhat disappointing. hershiser2 (914), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2004 Nice golden amber with a small head that goes away quickly.
Sweet alcohol scent. Reminds me a bit of a sweet schnaps.
Thick bitter alcohol flavor, with a nice zip and yummy tang.
Nice mouthfeel, not too heavy, but a bit on that side of the fence.
Drinkable beer without a doubt. A bit too bitter and alcohol-flavored for my tastebuds to handle all the time, but I might come back to this one. Hangover (768), Atlanta, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 31, 2004 Clear golden color, thin, but lasting white head. Aroma is predominantly malt, which was surprising. some coffee notes. Big malt taste in this beer. Of course, some mellow hop notes along with a strange butterscotch, bready taste. Bitter finish. A nice break from the usual superhopped american pale ales, but I'm not quite sure it was worth it's premium price. Somewhat noteworthy. A pleasant and different pale ale. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 17, 2004 For all the low ratings others gave this I found it quite enjoyable. It was hoppy and had a good bitter finish. That's what I like in an IPA and this came through. MartinKubert (862), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 14, 2004 Quite alcoholic aroma. Bread, rye and hops in the flavor. Slightly hoppy. Quite sweet brew. Lacks the bitterness from the hops. Too sweet. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 14, 2004 Amber coloured. Malty aroma. Sweet and hoppy flavour. Nice and smooth with a bitter finish. Would benefit from more hops. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 11, 2004 An almost non existent aroma. Appearance is amber with a large head. Flavor is spicy? with some faint hops. A very soapy flavor. I can appreciate the English IPA's with less hops but this is not a good example. Can this really be made by the same folks who make London Porter and Vintage Ale? Hard to believe. Below average IPA.
