The difference between an english IPA and an american IPA is huge. English IPA's are much milder beers compared to their american counterparts.

Pours a pretty standard amber with a nice frothy white head, leaving good amount of lace. Small malt nose with a little hop aroma. Big malt body starts the flavors and finishes with small hops. Nothing too significant.

Pours a bit of a golden, almost a light brown color. A little tiny head, that tries to hang on but fails, and leaves some light lacing in its wake. A very mellow aroma, has a nicely balanced hop profile, with a sufficient malt backbone. Taste is slightly buttery, but has a nice clean mouthfeel, that is medium bodied and very drinkable. I prefer their ESB.

Bought this in the beautiful 1pt.2.6 oz bottle!! Nice raised brown glass and a classy label. Poured into the glass a nice tasty bright brown , very nice indeed..small head , which lingered down to the bottom of my glass. Smell was not too strong//slighy toffee scent even a slight hint of coffee! Good taste hits the spot! Iv'e had other IPAs with too much taste ..this is nice stays but doesnt linger to long. Feels very good in the mouth. Very drinkable indeed..if not too cold.

This is a good, big bodied beer with bitter hop flavors, but those flavors and the relative aromas are fairly subtle. Savory malts reign here. The kind of beer I hate to judge without trying it on cask somewhere across the pond.

Its hard to know what what the original IPA's tasted like in the 1800's but since this is a faith full repoduction I would fight for the empire. It doesn't knock your socks off with hopps. I think its a great intro in IPA's. It's a very good brew.

Clear medium amber brown with a a medium rocky quickly diminishing off white head. Floral aroma of carmel, toast, dough, and honey with hints of orange and spice. Medium watery body with a moderate amount of carbonation. Flavor of caramel, butter, bread, and honey with hints of orange and spice. I enjoy hoppy American IPAs, but they can be a little fatiguing. I can drink nicely balanced English ones like this all night. Good.

The aroma is a nice sweet malty and hoppy one. The color is amber and it has a beutiful head. The flavor is sweet and hoppy with notes of fruit and grass. It doesn't have bite enough for an IPA. The ends is more grassy, than it is bitter.
