Grabbing one or six brewed by the heavyweights at Fuller Smith and Turner doesn't hurt my day a bit. This brew pours a medium sparkling copper. The thick off white creamy dense head is fully lasting with stellar lacing that sticks to the side of my glass in gobbing sheets. The nose is fresh and and outstanding combination of toasted malt cereal, dried figs and raisins. The flavor is deep and complex starting slightly sweet and alcoholic and bringing up the rear with a burned caramel bitterness. The palate is perfect - full and creamy and soft. The finish feels just a tad chalky. Superb: Bravo!! Braudog (3766), Dayton, Ohio, USA

Bit of a smoky grass aroma. The flavor is full-bodied, oakey, nutty, woodsy, with a hint of smoke and well rounded. An excellent ale with an 'old world' character. groovinhigh (170), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

It had a nice malty nose and malty taste with some hops in the background. Much different than an American IPA, as there isn’t as much hoppiness. It isn’t quite what I expected from an IPA, however it had a nice flavor. Tasted a lot like Fuller’s ESB. It appears to me that a lot of people rate this against American IPA’s, expecting a lot of hops. You can’t do that. The English IPA’s are a diffferent breed of animal. It’s well balanced with bitter, sweet, and hops. It has a fresh palate even from the bottle. Quite drinkable. Nate (2552), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

Little lacing. Medium body, smooth light carb. Very hoppy and a bit sweet - big bittering. A very good IPA. twocycle99 (61), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
