mjs (1445), Helsinki, Finland Nov 4, 2009 (At St. Urho’s Pub) Poured amber and clear with medium sized, sparse, bubbly and long lasting head. Aroma contained strawberry juice, malts and lightly hops. Medium bodied and dryish palate with very low carbonation. Tasted of malts, molasses, hops and bitterness, Malty aftertaste. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 1, 2009 Cask at Volo Cask Days 2009. A perfect English IPA. Nice hoppy aroma. Golden with stand-on-guard white head. Great balance, with understated hops, some citrus. Creamy mouthfeel. Easy drinking. Slacks (480), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Nov 1, 2009 Cask Days 2009 @ Bar Volo, Toronto, ON: Pours amber, good beige head for a cask. Citrusy hops strong in the aroma, they seem to stand alone. That seem citrus hop note comes through in the flavour, lighter than possibly expected (unless you took a glance at the IBUs) but little malty sweetness to balance. It’s good, but happy to note some of our local Ontario brewers had IPAs that I enjoyed more. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 1, 2009 2009-10-31. Orange amber body with a small beige head. 3+ Mild pleasant aroma of fruity hops, light citrus. Flavour is similar, light fruity citrus, modest bitterness throughout. Average palate is just a touch light for my preference. Quite quaffable, pleasant. Cask at Volo Cask Days 2009 Enjoyit (1695), Vadum, Denmark Oct 20, 2009 Clear orange of color with an off white head. An aroma of grapefruits, citrus, grass and weak malty. A flavor of malt, grass and citrus. NosirIwont (1162), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Oct 17, 2009 Cask @ The Wharf, Aalborg. Pours a clear copper colour with a white head. Sweet, hoppy aroma with malt in the background. Flavour is dry with a bit of citrus hops and some pine thrown in as well. Bitter hop finish. 27-09-09. pivnizub (4949), Bochum, Porúří, Germany Oct 8, 2009 Cask: Orange-golden, small lacy off-white foam, solid dry hoppy nose, balanced by a distinctive juicy-malty background; robust - mainly dry - bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; lingering dry hoppy finish, rounded by fruity-malty influences. Fine Fullers quality, as usual........ ladnewton (200), London, Greater London, England Oct 4, 2009 Cask at the Royal Standard, Croydon, Surrey, England on 29th September 2009. Amber colour with whitish head leaving a little lacing. Sweet, malty with hops quite moderate. Some fruitiness and a slightly sweet, textured finish on soft carbonation. Whilst not tasting like IPAs I have drunk in the States or elsewhere, it is nevertheless a reasonably drinkable strong ale.
