Commercial Description:
Cask; Occasional.
India Pale Ale was originally created to refresh the troops at the height of the British Empire in India. This pale amber classic faithfully re-creates the traiditional characteristics of this historic product, well-hopped to leave a pleasant bitterness.

From cask at Charlies. Pours clear and golden orange with a diminished off white head. Light malty and fruity hops aroma. Light peachy and apple flavoured. Medium sweet and quite smooth fruity hops flavour. Ends with a light acidic touch and a mild bitterness into the finish.

Cask, Jan Primus. Aroma has floral hops, some caramel maltiness. Hazy, orange amber coloured with a lasting, short, off-white head. Taste is sweetish, slightly bitter (compared with the American IPA’s). It has citric, floral hoppiness and a a caramel malty touch. Refreshing and relative thin. Dry finish. Good brew.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A slightly hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit and caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel as well as a good deal of fruit and hints of prunes and citrusy hops, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Mad Bishop & Bear, Paddington 3/4/08. Golden coloured with a slight white head. Extremely sweet grain and apricot aroma with a hint of floral hops. The flavour began with a touch of sweetcorn and dishwater before a slightly redeeming bitter finish. Poor.
