Tap @ a Fullers pub in the Docklands somewhere. Sweet potato and straw aroma with a little chocolate. Red brown body with minimal head.Wheaty flavour that goes bitter then sweet then bitter. And thats about it. Nothing special. oh6gdx (9065), Vasa, Finland
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 30, 2005 Bottled. Brown colour with red hints, not much head. Hoppy and fruity aroma with hints of berries. Bitter hoppy flavour with hints of berries and fruit. Pretty typical British ESB... Gets boring after about half a glass. Short aftertaste. Surprisingly full-bodied considering the low alcohol. Sweetish and fruity (with added blackberries) but never cloying. On the contrary this is rather refreshing. A positive surprise. 030204 Sully (1367), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia

The cask version was not my favourite and so this one suffers simply by being tamed by glass. Looks ok in the bottle and when poured but it presents as a dull and uninspiring brew. No blackberries here either. imdownthepub (5173), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

Dark amber with short head. Depleted version of the cask, a little dull on the tongue despite the CO2, malted sweet but largely unexiting, and I still don’t get the Blackberries. Garrat (1132), Suffolk, England

NOt really warming or rich with flavour as i would normally think a winter ale to be. Slight blackberry in the aroma, also some butterscotch and caramel and nuts. Palate was smooth and sweet, withi minimal bitterness, slight touch of berry fruit, also got some slightly figgy fruit. Nutty aswell, a but simple. Also had it cask@The Prince of wales, Richmond, London, and thought much the same. Boystout (900), Chisinau, Moldova
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2004 High quality English bitter with a bonus: dark reddish/blueish colour and unusual level of blackberry freshness. Not for winter months but great.
