Bottled. Malty aroma with some caramel and a hint of soap but not annoying. Dark amber color, small firm off-white head that lasts and leaves great lace. Malty, fruity, just a hint of blackberry, caramel, sweet but not too sweet, very firm body.

Bottled. Nice ale, not too dark but certainly sutible for winter. Loverly fruity flavour. Ill have to try this next winter cask-conditioned - tried to sample it in early february and they had already stopped it.

High quality English bitter with a bonus: dark reddish/blueish colour and unusual level of blackberry freshness. Not for winter months but great.

Bottle, Tesco. Attractive ruby-toned copper with a cap of rough off-white. Smells of caramel warmth, soft berries, and some rye bread/earthiness. Plumy sweetness, dark bread, just a mild berry flavor, fairly dry finish. A pleasant surprise.

Bottled. Copper colour, head initially good but mainly big bubbles that soon dissapear. Aromas reminiscent of cherry skin along with a good solid hop note. Blackcurrant flavours are apparent but subdued, blending well with caramel and hop flavours. Finish is delicate and dry with a late hoppy aftertaste.

Fruity raisin nose. Earthy, toasty, cassis, chocolate and raisin palate. Fair bitterness in the second half. Pretty tastey and well balanced.
