Jan 4, 2006 Cask : The Wyche Elm, Kingston Upon Thames. Dark, ruby red, witha fruity blackberry flavour. An upinspiring beer with a pleasent enough character. Not as meaty as its colour leads you to belive.

Dec 31, 2005 Cask, New Road Inn, Leicester. Mahogony in colour with a dense cream head. Aromas are light roast toffee malts with raisins, berries and yeast - quite plummy. Flavours are fruity, especially slightly sour berries, with toffee malts. Quite dry towards the finish. Not as rich as I expected for a Winter warmer.

Mid brown colour slightly rich on the palate and fruity. Some dryness in a bitter malt finish.

Amber coloured beer with some alcohol presence. Fruity but the blackberries didn’t seem as prominent as they have when I’ve sampled this beer before. Some slight sourness and dryness with lots of malt in the finish.

Dec 1, 2005 Pint pulled at The Old Bank of England in the City (London), a ruby brown colour with a frothy head. Not a strong aroma, but soem maltiness comes through. Malty flavour again and quite smooth.

Aug 1, 2005 Handpulled at Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Alluring winter fruits aroma but sadly not followed through in the flavour; a snatch of barley, thin sweetness, leaves little aftertaste that’s worth writing home about.

Apr 3, 2005 Cask@The Prince of wales, Richmond, London, nutty, sweet slightly sticky berry fruit, flat, sweet. I thought the bottle and cask versions were much the same surprisingly.
