Dark red in colour. Small soapy head. Slight aroma of blackberries, some flowery hops. Familiar Fullers malts, lightly bitter finish. Slightly watery. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England

Interesting that Spiesy thought it looked like London Pride as it was clearly a far darker colour than the London Pride that others in my party were drinking. I wonder whether the recipe has been changed. In character, much as one would expect from a winter beer. Fruit is the dominant feature throughout. Definite current/raisin tones on the nose. Apparently, blackberries are in the recipe. Finishes a little sweet for me. A respectable, but unexceptional beer. Handpump, Old Bank of England, London WC1, December 2003.

Pleasant, fruity beer, with a soft, juicy flavour. Nice red hued colour, but perhaps the sweetness is a little too cloying. imdownthepub (5143), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

Red amber beer with lasting bubbly head. I always look forward to this beer hitting the pubs over winter as it is a delicious fruity, roasted malt beer, toffee caramel notes, a good winter warmer. A malty bitter with the fruit flavour strongly weighted with sharp blackberries. Refeshing and pleasant. [3.0] And again... Cask Fresh @ Barrowboy & Banker - A Fuller's House, Southwalk. Beer is in good condition. Amber with scarlet hue. Smells of beer - sort of doughy with a hint of fragrant hops. Carbonation is tickly on the tongue. Mild toffee and caramel flavours with an equally mild bitterness. Some rancid pig fat lingers in the finish. Drinkable, but not that good.
