Plenty of maltiness to the taste. Can taste the roast. Not as heavy as some of this style, but a mild porter is still a porter. Nekronos (2265), Xalapa, Mexico

Aroma is appealing with its strong bitter coffee beans and a good ammount of chocolate (a little on the powerdery side). Lots of flavour: bitter roasted coffee beans / malt and some chocolate with a touch of hops (really weak). The alcohol and bitterness blend together well. This is really tasty! For me, the mouthfeel was not terrible but just subpar and not to my liking. Slick, too smooth - don’t really like the feel of the hops. Short lived aftertaste. Very good beer none the less. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2009 This beer looks like a giant pint of black coffee sitting in front of me or maybe a glass of coke, very black with a red hugh around the edges and a nice thick tan head about a half inch high. The light scents of chocolate and coffee are very nice, but I would have scored them higher if they weren’t so weak. Unlike the aroma the taste is very strong, dark bitter chocolate, burnt coffee and roasted malts, I think I can also get some chalky banana in the background. This is a very hard beer for me to describe the taste there’s lots going on. The after taste is harshly bitter and long lasting. A very good beer, buts one I could never drink more then one in a evening. Goba (63), Brazil

The ruby body made me dive. Despite of having a descouraging experience with an english ale last week, this porter did got me into some wild tasting experience. The aroma was astonishing good, with licourous port wine sent, along with dark chocolate, coffee and roasted-it-all: from wood to malt. Into the mouth, you know, angels sang. The chocolate seemed to be already exactly mixed with coffee for the best experience, with dark malts flowing from side to side retouching any possible flaw. Some caramel and molasses came along the ruby wine taste. But the big prize was for sure in the aftertaste, with hints of bitterness from the coffee, the warm good-bye alcohol feel, and some faint nutty flavores mixed with faiting chocolate. Now I can say I tasted a porter. ketchepillar (480), Viña del Mar, Chile
