Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

Creamy beige head, deep brown colour, lacing. Aroma is heavily roasted, dark chocolate, coffee and brown sugar. Flavour is roasted sweet and plenty of coffee and chocolate. The flavour is very well balanced and yet intriguing. Mouthfeel is very very smooth with small bubbles and it is almost a bit oily. This is a great porter, met my expectations and then some! Draft. A dark chocolate colored beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is malty with some chocolate and a slight smoke. Flavor is roasted/burnt malt, nutty, light smoke and wood. Towards the end I got much more chocolate. Body is medium and creamy. Finishes with a very mild bitterness.

Black with a creamy beige lasting head. Full, complex aroma of cocoa, coffee, just an hint of fruity. Very mellow as the flavour, velvety, medium bodied, extremely balanced.

33cl bottle from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Pours a slightly hazy dark cola brown with reddish highlights with a one finger tan creamy head that settles slowly. Aroma is roasted and malty with notes of burnt caramal, honey, chocolate, some hints of vanilla and anise. Flavor is roasted and malty with notes of sweet cream, caramel, chocolate, smoke, wood. coffee, brown sugar, molasses, and hints of toffee. Generally medium to full body with a pleasing coffee chocolate finish.

Dark red with a nice creamy white head. Nose is sweet roasted malt with a hint of vanilla. Very good. Complex flavors of roasted malt, chocolate, butterscotch and vanilla without being too sweet. Finish is very clean. Didn’t expect a beer you can find anywhere to be this good!

From bottle, dark-brown with medium tan head that lives a beatiful lacing, aroma is malt like with a deep chocolate and caramel, notes of clove and some pleasant roasted malts, flavors of smoked tobacco, coffee & chocolate, pleasant syrupy texture, and hoppy smokey clovey finish. As a good beer it is getting better from one sip to the other. don’t drink it too cold or you might miss the show. A top balanced porter.

Lovely porter- great nutty/chocolatey smell. Only problem I have is the smokiness- never liked smoky beers. Luckily, that seems to fade as it warms, allowing more caramelly flavors to take over. $4/bottle at Zeke’s on Miami Beach

Pours dark with a tan head. Aroma is very much roasted malts with a little vanilla and maybe a hint of coffee. Flavor is very nice with the roasted malts being the most abundant in presence along with some chocolate and vanilla. Really quite tasty. Very nice full mouthfeel for a lower abv beer, or for any beer for that matter. It’s just a little more unexpected and thus pleasant here. Really good beer.
