Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

Color is deep brown. Lacy, beige head. Aroma is nicely coffeey, hoppy and roasty malty. Flavor is smoky, roasty malty with coffee and slightly fruity hoppy. Quite full-bodied and smoothly carbonated palate.

12 oz. bottle from John’s Grocery (Iowa City, IA). Poured a dark brown with some red notes in the light with a decent cocoa colored head that beings to dissipate to a thinner film. Aromas are amazing, consisting of chocolate and other roasted malts, coffee, and a bit of a lactose sweetness that I can smell very easily. Wonderful. Initial taste is of dark rich roasted malts with a chocolatey smoothness that follows. A bit of a bitter coffee finish that ends up smooth and memorable, with an aftertaste that is similiar to the whole taste progression of the entire brew. A medium to heavy bodied brew that feels ich, but still possibly sessionable for someone else that might love darker roasted malts more than I. Still, a top notch brew that I’m glad I tried and still near my tops, despite being a beer style I don’t venture to often. Cheers.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with aromas of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. A bit thin on body and aroma, though. Flavor is thin, but nicely mixes the tastes associated with the aromas mentioned above. Not bad, but I expected some sort of epiphany or something, so I’m a little disappointed. Seems to lack some of the ABV and plot complexity of my favorite porters.

As dark as ruby can get.Thin off white lacing head. Espresso, malt and mild fruit on the nose. Nice, mildly roasted and gently smoked flavor. Really smooth with lots of character. Very even. Very drinkable. The Cary Grant(sorry I chose an American) of porters.

Pours dark brown with ruby highlights and a tan head. Sweet roasty aroma with hints of coffee. Roasted malt flavor with slight bitterness, coffee and chocolate. Medium to full body with mild carbonation and a smooth creamy mouthfeel. An excellent porter, one of the best I have had.

VERY nice porter...pretty much lived up to expectations. Served from the bottle in a pint glass...almost black, with ruby hints and a small, cola-like head that disappeared pretty quickly. Very easy-drinking, with nose and taste of chocolate, caramel, and brown sugar. Solid sessioner.
