Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

I thought this beer looked and smelled great. It poured a dark porter brown and had a nice brown/tan head. But, once the beer was in my mouth, I got less than I was expecting. I love porters, but I couldn’t help but feel like this Fullers London Porter was kind of weak. It tasted almost watery, the palate was not as thick and rich as I had expected for a nice dark porter, and it just seemed generally lacking in complexity. It was a fine beer, but I felt that it was only fine, and not worthy of the reputation (or the price) that is associated with it. All in all, I would pick other and cheaper porters over London Porter. I would try it again if I saw it on tap, perhaps that would make a significant difference. Cool bottle though...

This dark brown ale poured with a decent tan head and a pleasant roasted malt aroma. This beer just tastes really good. It’s got a nice blend of rich malts with chocolate and coffee undertones, and a nice roasted feel to it.

Bottle thanks to dchmela . Pours a dark black with a thick and creamy beige head. The aroma is awesome; coffee, burnt malts and hops. The flavor is mostly a super rich roasted malt. Man, I am a sucker for this style when it is done this well. A coffee and chocolate mix also with hops, brown sugar and some smoke. What a great beer. It is rich and full, but also easygoing and inviting.

On tap at The Ginger Man. Has a very dark brown almost black with a medium light tan head. The aroma is roasted dark chocolate and malt. Good lacing on the glass. The taste was like the aroma with a dry finish. A very good porter from Fullers.

Bottle: Beer number 100. Pours a very dark red color with a thick light brown head that fizzles away to a light film. Aroma of dark chocolate, malt and coffee. Flavor is a light smoky chocolate with a light bitter aftertaste. A great porter!

Draft, pours a very dark almost black color with a thin tan head. Great aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, licorice & smoke. Very full flavor with a nice slightly bitter aftertaste.
