I was quite happy to finally find this on cask even in the summer....aroma packs in molasses, brown sugar, licorice, rye, and chocolate. Still, the roasted malt and chocolate malt balance the flavor beautifully, so there is only a hint of sweetness (a taste similar to port). Such a rich and full-bodied brew this is, but still so drinkable, even while I sweated in that hot pub. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

Good for those cold winter nights when you need to feel you have something of substance. Great as an ingredient in Beef & Oyster pie! Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark
